Oracle Health had a busy September, with several AI product reveals and a big state hospital EHR deal.

Here are 10 times Becker’s reported on the EHR vendor in the past month:

1. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs plans to launch its new Oracle Health EHR at three to six medical centers at a time when it resumes the rollout in 2026, MeriTalk reported Sept. 24.

2. Oracle Health signed a $218 million deal Sept. 19 with the state of New York to build an EHR for its 24 psychiatric hospitals and over 300 outpatient programs.

3. Oracle has submitted permits to prepare for the construction of an estimated $2 billion headquarters in Nashville, Tenn., the Nashville Business Journal reported.

4. Oracle Health introduced a suite of AI-based tools Sept. 11 aimed at improving coordination and reducing administrative burden between healthcare providers and payers.

5. In a Sept. 10 keynote at the Oracle Health and Life Sciences Summit in Orlando, Oracle Industries President Mike Sicilia (now Oracle’s co-CEO) and OpenAI Vice President of Health Nate Gross, MD, outlined a vision for technology that empowers patients while candidly addressing its limitations.

6. When Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences, took the stage Sept. 10 to kick off the Oracle Health and Life Sciences Summit, she set the tone for the days ahead: AI is no longer on the horizon. It’s here, and it’s reshaping industries.

7. Oracle plans to roll out new AI capabilities within its patient portal, allowing patients to ask questions and receive plain-language explanations of diagnoses, lab results and treatment options, the company said Sept. 10 during the Oracle Health and Life Sciences Summit.

8. Larry Ellison, co-founder, chair and chief technology officer of Oracle, said Sept. 9 he believes his company can take on EHR rival Epic due to its size and integrated approach.

9. The Change Healthcare cyberattack delayed testing for a new Oracle Health EHR at an Illinois hospital jointly operated by the VA and Department of Defense, the VA’s Office of Inspector General found Sept. 3.

10. Oracle laid off more workers at its former Cerner campus in Kansas City, Mo., KMBC reported Sept. 2.
