Seattle Children’s plans to adopt ambient listening technology from Abridge for 18 specialties across the enterprise.
The pediatric health system piloted the ambient AI for 90 days, with clinicians reporting a 79% average decline in documentation effort and 72% of eligible encounters supported by the technology.
“We wanted a tool that could free our clinicians to support our highest priority — delivering high-quality, compassionate care to every child and family who needs us,” said Zafar Chaudry, MD, senior vice president and chief digital, AI and information officer of Seattle Children’s, in a Sept. 29 news release. “Abridge stood out for its pediatric-aware platform, its ability to reduce burnout and streamline the documentation process, and the quality of its team.”
The health system may also deploy Abridge’s diagnosis intelligence, pediatric emergency medicine decision-making, and inpatient progress note tools.
