Epic’s revenue rose to $5.7 billion in 2024, a company spokesperson told Becker’s, as the EHR vendor continues to add health system customers.

That number is up from $4.9 billion in 2023 and $1.2 billion in 2012. Epic has continued to consolidate its U.S. market share lead over the past few years, from 31% of acute care hospitals in 2021 to 42.3% in 2024, per KLAS Research. Its nearest competitor, Oracle Health, clocked in at 22.9%. Epic is the market share leader for all U.S. acute care hospital types except standalone facilities with 200 beds or fewer.

Epic welcomed 28 new U.S. health system customers at its Users Group Meeting in August, including 10-plus hospital systems such as Birmingham, Ala.-based UAB Medicine, Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health, Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida and Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health.

Health system giants Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and Pittsburgh-based UPMC are also implementing Epic, while Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health recently went live with the EHR across its 33 hospitals.

Epic founder and CEO Judy Faulkner’s estimated net worth has also grown from $1.7 billion in 2012 to $7.8 billion today, according to Forbes. She recently rejected a $30 billion offer to sell the company, saying: “Not now and not in the future.” She has made arrangements to keep Epic private and employee- and family-owned after her death.
