Anchorage (Alaska) Neighborhood Health Center is investigating a data security incident after a hacker group claimed to have accessed the records of 60,000 patients, according to a Sept. 15 report from NBC affiliate KTUU.

The hacker group claimed responsibility for accessing 10,000 patient records earlier in September, and later alleged that an additional 50,000 records had been compromised, according to the news outlet. ANHC confirmed the breach on its website, stating it “recently became aware of a data security incident occurring on our network.” The center said it promptly launched an investigation and took affected systems offline.

ANHC said it is working with third-party cybersecurity experts and has notified law enforcement. A spokesperson for the Anchorage Police Department said at least one report had been filed regarding the breach, according to KTUU. An FBI spokesperson said the agency is “aware of the alleged data breach” and is reviewing the matter.
