The Department of Veterans Affairs will expand its Oracle Health EHR system to nine additional medical centers and their associated clinics in 2026.

The new sites are in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Alaska. They include Cincinnati VAMC-Fort Thomas, Chillicothe VAMC, Cincinnati VAMC, Dayton VAMC, Cleveland’s Louis Stokes VAMC, Fort Wayne VAMC, Marion VAMC, Richard L. Roudebush VAMC in Indianapolis, and the Alaska VA Healthcare System in Anchorage.

These additions bring the total number of facilities scheduled to adopt the federal EHR system in 2026 to 13, including four Michigan sites announced in December 2024. The VA expects full implementation across all its facilities as early as 2031.

The department said in an Oct. 8 news release that site selections were made after consultations with regional and local leaders, clinicians and Oracle Health.

The VA initially signed a $10 billion contract with Cerner in 2018. That figure has since grown to more than $16 billion. Oracle acquired Cerner in 2022.
