The CIOs of U.S. News & World Report’s U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll winners for 2025-26 have collectively been with their organizations for decades.
Here are the IT chiefs at the publication’s top 10 children’s hospitals, released Oct. 7:
Boston Children’s Hospital: Heather Nelson has been senior vice president and CIO since 2021.
Children’s Hospital Colorado (Aurora): Amy Feaster has been senior vice president and chief digital and information officer since 2023, having joined the hospital in 2018.
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles: Conrad Band has been senior vice president and CIO since 2021, having been with the organization since 2017.
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia: Shakeeb Akhter has been senior vice president and chief digital and information officer since 2022, having joined CHOP in 2019.
Children’s National Hospital (Washington, D.C.): Matt MacVey has been executive vice president and CIO since 2022, having been with the hospital since 2017.
Cincinnati Children’s: Tony Johnston has been senior vice president of information services and CIO since 2023, having joined the organization in 1989.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus, Ohio): Denise Zabawski has been CIO since 2013, having been with the hospital since 1999.
Rady Children’s Hospital (San Diego): John Henderson was named vice president and chief information and digital officer of Rady Children’s Health in January.
Seattle Children’s Hospital: Zafar Chaudry, MD, is senior vice president and chief digital, AI and information officer, joining the organization in 2017.
Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston): Myra Davis has been executive vice president and chief information and innovation officer since 2019, having joined the organization in 2003.
