Duke Health, Durham, N.C.-based, has partnered with Trase Systems to develop AI tools aimed at streamlining hospital workflows and improving patient care.

The collaboration will focus on agentic AI — a type of technology capable of making decisions and acting independently to achieve specific goals — according to a Sept. 30 Duke Health news release shared with Becker’s. The tools are expected to assist with administrative tasks, patient scheduling, care coordination and clinical research access.

Duke Heart staff will help co-develop and test the AI products, with the first phase launching at the Duke Heart Center, which treats more than 65,000 patients with heart disease annually.

The partnership aims not only to personalize care but also to reduce the administrative burden on clinicians.
