Kettering (Ohio) Health is continuing to address an IT disruption that has affected most of its systems.

In a May 23 statement on the health system’s website, CEO Mike Gentry said Kettering Health experienced an “unscheduled downtime” May 19.

“Our team members are diligently following downtime processes and procedures,” Mr. Gentry said. “Patient appointments where IT applications are a necessary part of care plans are being rescheduled.”

While the cause of the disruption was not disclosed, Mr. Gentry noted that such outages in healthcare typically last 10 to 20 days.

Despite the IT challenges, all of Kettering Health’s emergency departments, hospitals and clinics remain open. Mr. Gentry thanked regional partners — including Dayton Children’s and Premier Health — for their support during the disruption.

The organization said it will begin providing daily updates starting this weekend.
