Can digital tools ‘Make America Healthy Again’? CMS asks public | Health IT

By May 14, 2025No Comments

CMS is seeking public input on how digital technologies can “Make America Healthy Again.”

The agency is issuing a request for information, asking providers, payers, technology developers, patients and caregivers to weigh in through June 16.

“We are building a future where seniors and families have the digital tools they need at their fingertips — tools that help them make informed choices, manage chronic conditions, and stay healthy,” said Stephanie Carlton, CMS chief of staff and deputy administrator, in a May 13 news release. “The government must be a catalyst, not a barrier, to unleashing American innovation in healthcare.”

Specifically, CMS is asking how to:

— Boost the development and adoption of digital health management and care navigation tools.

— Grow interoperability and ensure secure access to health data.

— Reduce barriers that prevent the uninterrupted exchange of health information.

— Cut administrative burden and shift toward value-based care.
