In 2025, CEOs expect CIOs to integrate AI into their organizations while boosting the customer experience, CIO reported May 12.

The news outlet asked 906 IT leaders and 250 line-of-business professionals: “What are the CEO’s top three priorities for you in the coming year?” Here are their answers:

1. Research and implement AI products/projects: 26%

2. Improve the customer experience: 23%

3 (tie). Strengthen IT and business collaboration: 22%

3 (tie). Lead digital business/digital transformation initiatives: 22%

5. Upgrade IT and data security to reduce corporate risk: 20%

6. Help reach a specific goal for corporate revenue growth: 19%

7. Identify new data-driven business opportunities: 18%

8. Reduce or rationalize IT spending: 17%

9 (tie). Improve the employee experience: 15%

9 (tie). Enable new plans for customer acquisition and retention: 15%

9 (tie). Lead a product innovation effort: 15%
