On July 25th, NAHSE-WMAC collaborated with a nonprofit organization called Food & Friends. Founded 25 years ago, the organization started in a church with 100% volunteers. Today, they have expanded their operations and now serve nearly 3,000 meals per day to families in need. These clients are primarily living with HIV & Aids, Cancer or are at home hospice patients. Each client is assigned a designated dietician to help prepare fresh meals and ensure these clients eat as healthy as possible. NAHSE-WMAC members along with several family and friends joined us to deliver meals to people in need. Our chapter handled multiple routes covering the District as well as Prince George’s County. “This marks the third community engagement event by the chapter this year. Pernell Williams, NAHSE-WMAC, Director of Community Engagement states, "I am happy that our members are ensuring that the needs of our community are being met."
